The Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (BSB41407) is a nationallyrecognised qualification suited to people in a full-time dedicated Occupational Health and Safety role (such as an OHS Officer or OHS Coordinator) who work under the supervision of an OHS Manager. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Course Overview
This qualification requires completion of nine (9) units of competency, comprising six (6) core Occupational Health and Safety units and three (3) elective units - addressing a variety of topics and subject-matter areas including, but not limited to: OHS Legislative Compliance; OHS Consultation; Hazard Identification and Control; Risk Assessment; Emergency Procedure Implementation; and Workplace Communication.
